Worth knowing
Alucat; cover, cost and conditions
Alucat has five cabin catamarans in its programme: the W8, W10 and W25 since 2017, the W14 and W18 as early as 2015, all still in production today. For a multihull we set an agreed value so that in the event of a claim there is no argument about the value and the agreed sum applies instead.
A catamaran with a cabin is wider than a monohull, which makes itself felt at the berth, during craning and in transport. Our cover also applies in winter storage, during craning, launching and in transit. A boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.
Whether it is the W8 or the W25 that is insured makes no difference to the principle: the premium follows the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output or sail area and cruising range, never the brand. You receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How are cabin catamarans such as the Alucat W14 rated?
Just like any other boat: through the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output or sail area and cruising range. The design is taken into account through the type of boat; there is no surcharge for the brand.
What additional damage does full hull cover include?
It covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard.

Series by Alucat, build years and cover

Alucat W10 is a cabin catamaran from Alucat, built since 2017.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
