Albatros; cover, cost and conditions
When buying used, the replacement value counts for more than the old list price. According to the model ranges available to us, the motorboats and motor yachts from Albatros were built between 2003 and 2015, and today they change owners on the used market. Under full hull cover we agree an agreed value for this, which is indemnified in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
The programme was broadly conceived: 16 model ranges, from the open motorboat Albatro 6e05 to motor yachts such as the Albatro 12.90 or the 50 Open. This makes no difference to the premium, because the premium is based on the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range, never on the brand. What counts are solely the details of your boat.
A boat of this brand is already sailing in our own portfolio, a Condor 55. You can take out the policy online up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros; above that we review the individual case. If you are still insured elsewhere, NAMMERT cancels the previous contract for you free of charge.

Frequent questions
The Albatro model ranges were built until around 2015. Is there an age limit for full hull cover?
In the Premium tariff there is no age limit. We agree an agreed value and indemnify in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), even with an older boat.
I also take my Albatro motor yacht abroad. Does the cover apply there?
The contract covers your agreed cruising range, and the international certificate of insurance is automatically available in ten languages. You state the cruising range when taking out the policy; it is a premium factor.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
