Anyone taking over an Aeolos P30 or P45 second-hand should settle the insurance before handover. Both sailing yachts were built until 2024, the P30 since 2018 and the P45 since 2021. For the purchase price or the replacement value we agree an agreed value which applies in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old").
Third-party liability forms the basis of every policy and is available with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, graded according to the tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, in the Premium tariff without an age limit.
A programme of two model ranges raises the question of whether such a yacht fits into a standard tariff. With us it does: small series and home-built boats are insurable, irrespective of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online, above that we examine the individual case.

How is the value of an Aeolos determined when the policy is taken out?
We agree an agreed value. This sum is paid in the event of a total loss with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff without an age limit. The basis is the type of boat, value, year of construction and sail area, never the brand name.
Are regattas with a P30 or P45 covered?
Club races are included from the Basis-Plus tariff level upwards. Races with ranking status are to be stated when the policy is taken out, so that the cover matches the actual use from the outset.
